Think of Standby Solutions as your guidance councilor. Someone who seemed very important at the time and helped you get somewhere. We, Standby Solutions wish to offer you guidance, support, ideas, input and solutions to your problems and queries. We understand that as a young artist its difficult to step up to the pace of a working arstist’ and how to go about it. There is always the possibility that we may not have the right answers for you but our closely linked and well experienced team have been through many of the situations you might find yourself in now, and have grown from these experiences with truck loads of valuable knowledge.
The SSolutions network we are part of work globally,not just in Scotland. We are made up of practicing visual artists, dancers, writers as well as business professionals so that your answer can be straight to the point and useful.

Dear Participant,
We would like to welcome you to the newly opened Standby Solutions headquarters, and urge you to take advantage of the facilities provided.
We, Standby Solutions, wish to offer you guidance, support, ideas, input and solutions to your problems and queries. We understand the difficulties of being a young or emerging artist: maintaining a practice whilst simultaneously working to earn a living and keeping up to date with current events and opportunities. The Standby Solutions team hopes to address these issues, and help you with any other obstacles you may come across. If we cannot provide an instant answer to your problem, our closely linked and well-experienced team will endeavor to work with you towards a solution. The Standby Solutions team works with a number of professionals many of whom have been through the situations you might find yourself in now, we have grown from these experiences with valuable knowledge and hope to use this to your advantage.
We would like to invite you to join us on Thursday 2nd October 7-9pm at the Standby Solutions office, Collective Gallery, Edinburgh, for the Standby Solutions ‘Business Meeting’
At this meeting, Standby Solutions hopes to work with you and other attendees to come up with an idea for a future project. By inviting you to work with us in this manner we will delve into the core of Standby Solutions ethos: working in challenging, new and exciting ways, encouraging collaboration and development, and helping young and emerging artists in all aspects of their practice.
The Business Meeting is an open event and we would like to encourage creative minds with all levels of expertise to join us. We are hoping that with the diversity of creative input we will emerge with an idea for this venture – the outcome could take many different forms, for example we could produce a publication, host and exhibition or organise a one off event.
